Finding the "Why" amongst the "Why should I"

Hey everyone, thanks for the continued love and support it means more than you all know. Starting next week I will be posting on Thursday afternoons. I have some projects in the works that required I change my posting schedule a little bit.   Also, if you enjoy what you've been reading so far, I'd love to hear from you and hear what you think.  That said,  Today's topic:  Purpose (n) - A person's sense of resolve or determination.  In the last few months, I've given this concept more than a fair share of thought. Not so sad to say, the last few months have seen their fair share of hardship and some points a great deal of despair.  I can honestly say there have been points where getting back on the bike, (shameless plug for last week's blog, if you haven't read it already.) was the last thing on my mind. I try to surround myself with people who are always moving forward as this is something I am accustomed to. One of the people that I loo...

The Bike Ride of A Lifetime

Hey Everyone! Thanks again for stopping by and showing your support. Over the last few weeks, one of the things that have been on my mind rather frequently has been the concept of being a strong person. I have been told it is one of my more admirable traits. The more I thought about it the more I began to question what it was that people were seeing in me to make them think that about me. I would like to think I am responsible for that portion of my development, however, deep down I know such isn't the case. So I started to ask myself: "What makes a strong person?" While I would agree that I am a strong person, sometimes I have trouble understanding what are the qualities and characteristics that portray that sense of strength to those around me. As funny as it is, I came up with nothing. However, after thinking about it some more, I thought back to probably the moment in my life that shaped my attitude and approach to life. It was learning to ride a bik...

Decisions, Decisions *Insert thinking face emoji*

Hey Everyone! Firstly, I wanted to apologize for the delay in my posting. I took some of the feedback that I got from my first post and wanted to make sure I'm taking strides to get better at this. I also felt this post was really personal to me and wanted to take time to thoroughly process my thoughts. That being said, today's topic of conversation is, "Choosing You."  I have been thinking about this recently and wanted to hear what you all think about it. Or, if it was something you had given thought to at all. Over the last maybe six months or so, I have had a few of my friends come to me and ask me how I find it so easy to not care about those around me? Contrary to popular belief, it is not that I do not care, however, I simply choose myself over others. I've recently come under scrutiny from friends saying it is selfish of me to do so. Though confident of my stance, I find myself feeling bad in certain instances. I find it hard to find the balanc...

Let's Set Sail!

Hey Everyone! I first want to thank you all for taking the time to take a gander at my blog. I hope to be inspiring as well as somewhat thought-provoking in this process.  I hope you all will leave comments as you are so moved and give positive feedback on ways that I can improve. As well let me know if you enjoy some of the things that I post. :)  I was contemplating what would be the subject of my inaugural blog post. I knew it would have to be something to grab everyone's attention. So I figured it would be awesome to share some of the sayings that swim around in my head all the time.  (These are the things going around when you see me randomly stuck in thought lol ) So this should be a fun time. :)   "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." - African Proverb  "A fight between grasshoppers is a joy to the crow." - Lesotho proverb "The most difficult thing in life is to know yourself." - Thales "No...
